Saint Mark’s Church in Philadelphia is an historic active Episcopal Parish in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. Its founders built one of the first Gothic Revival Churches in Philadelphia. The church’s cornerstone was laid in 1848. The spire was completed in 1852. In 1876 the parish had raised enough money to purchase four bells of a planned eight bell ring. Saint Mark’s Church has been commemorating the one hundred fiftieth anniversary of the parish during a period stretching from 1998-2001. One of the highlights of this commemorative period has been the restoration of their historic ring of bells for change ringing in time for the new millennium.
